TODAY IS: June 17, 2024
AROUND ME: expecting temperatures in the mid 90s today...and several other days this week! That puts me out in the flowerbeds early in the mornings before it gets too hot.
I AM PONDERING: the faithfulness of God in answering the prayers of His children and giving us safety in our travels over the last week!
AMONG MY FAVORITE THINGS: celebrating this girl...
BOOKS I AM CURRENTLY ENJOYING: my reading has slowed down quite a bit because of preparing for our trip this month, so there isn't any change in the books I've been listing other than the book by Sinclair Ferguson on the trinitarian views of John Owen.
Refreshment for the Soul is a collection of Richard Sibbes thoughts on different topics and is compiled as a devotional. So, it will be an ongoing reading throughout this year.
The Soul's Conflict by Richard Sibbes
John Owen by Sinclair Ferguson
I AM THANKFUL FOR: some very well spent time with our family in Maine.
FROM THE KITCHEN: not a lot of exciting things since we just returned from Maine, but I did make some lasagna roll-ups and some chocolate chia pudding since we've been home.
SOMETHING I REALLY ENJOY: family time
Congratulations to the graduate! Well done...

Thank you, Donna. We are proud of her. xx
DeleteSo glad to see you back! I loved seeing the photos of all the family up in Maine. The graduate looks very proud and so does her mom and dad and grandma and grandpa!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Melanie. It's good to be back. It was wonderful to be in Maine with the family to celebrate our girl!
Deletecongrats on graduation and being with family!! The best time spent.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Karen. I totally agree...the best time spent is with family. It had been two years since we'd been with them and we soaked up every minute we could.
DeleteCongratulations on your graduate and so glad you are safely back home! Be careful in this heat!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Monica! We enjoyed our time with family immensely, but it's also good to be back home.
DeleteCongratulations to your granddaughter! So glad you had the opportunity to go and spend time with family and had safe travels.
ReplyDeleteBarbara, thank you so much for rejoicing with us that we were able to be there for our girl.
DeleteAhh, congratulations to the sweet graduate. Glad you had safe travels and good family time on your trip. Yikes that is hot weather and so smart to go out early to do any work outside. Hope you have a lovely week ahead.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Ellen. We flew to Maine this time. Two years ago when we went, we drove up and it's about a 14 hour trip and hubby said from then on that we would fly when we went. I was able to get over half of the perennial bed done this morning early...was back inside by 7:30. Lord willing, I will finish up the rest early tomorrow morning.
DeleteCongrats on your graduate!

Thank you for this. So true and good to be reminded!
Thank you, Sandi. We are proud of our girl and were so blessed to be able to be there for her.
DeleteIn a future post I will share how it was that God answered some particular prayers. xx
Congratulations to the lovely graduate, and to the whole family. Yes, family time is the best, truly a gift from God and to be cherished and protected! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jenny. She is the youngest of our grandchildren and I had a friend remind me today that the last of our grandchildren has now graduated. Kind of the end of an era. :) Thank you for stopping by. xoxo
DeleteCongrats to the graduate! I'm glad you had some nice family time in Maine. Such lovely pictures of everyone. And thankful you had a safe trip!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Julia! It was truly a blessing to have the time with family. We talk often on the phone but there's nothing like being in the same room with them. We had good flights both going to Maine and returning to West Virginia.
DeleteCongratulations to the happy graduate. Nice to have family time. Glad all went well and you are home again safely.
ReplyDeleteThank you, my friend. She definitely enjoyed her day. We always enjoy our time with family.
DeleteSeeing these pics makes me happy! She is a cutie and just looks like a sweetheart. I think she looks like you. Do you ever hear that?
ReplyDeleteLove the pics of all of you too. Time with family is a blessing and I'm thankful you were able to enjoy it.
You, my friend and prayer warrior, have no idea how many times I thought of you while we were away. You prayed our kids through Covid, got me through security at the airports and gave us special special times with our family. I'm glad that the pictures made you happy. Thank you for your kind words regarding our girl. We think she's pretty special. :) You are the first person who has told me that she and I look alike, but I can see why you say that. She favors Carroll's side of the family, but she and I are alike in a lot of our personality traits. xoxo
DeleteIt's a blessing to pray for a friend! And you know how I've appreciated your prayers for us as well.

DeleteI'm glad you had a safe trip and are home again. It's wonderful that you could be there for your lovely granddaughter's grad. She has the sweetest smile💗.
ReplyDeleteThank you, GM. We are so thankful we could be there to support her. She's just as sweet as that smile of hers.
