From My Journal

 TODAY IS: 24 March 2025

AROUND ME:  The temperatures have been fluctuating between winter and spring like everywhere else.  I think it's pretty "normal" weather for this time of year.

I AM PONDERING: the joy of friendship!

AMONG MY FAVORITE THINGS: a cup of hot tea or cocoa and a good book!

BOOKS I AM CURRENTLY ENJOYINGThinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman and The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton

I AM THANKFUL FOR: The Trinity, good friends, my Bible, church family, our pastor, and laughter!

NEVER TOO OLD TO LEARN: the names of flowers!  I now know what a Bluebell is!  They are joyously appearing in one of the flowerbeds here.

FROM THE KITCHEN:

The Million Dollar Crack Dip Recipe
SO yummy!

SOMETHING I REALLY ENJOY:

Beautiful teacups!

  1. That's a great list of things to be thankful for. We truly are so blessed!
I love that dip. I also love those tea cups. There's just something about beautiful table ware that makes a person feel special.

  2. the weather has been in a whiplash kind of mood here. i cannot take the wind, I have severe dry eye and i just makes everything worse! On a day when there isn't wind and there is sunshine I don't care how cold it is, because it's glorious!

  3. Good morning Dianna. The quotes are soooo good!! The picture of the dip sure made me hungry for some of it! I keep my dining table set at all times. I love beautiful dishes and tea cups, and to walk past the table just makes me feel GOOD. A hot cup of tea in one of those beautiful tea cups will make anyone's day feel special...We have sunshine already this morning....hope the sun shines brightly your way....

    1. I love it that you keep your dining table set at all times. That is bound to bring you lots of joy! We had periods of sunshine today. The temperature got up in the mid 50s.

  4. Bluebells are so pretty. My wedding was in December, and I wanted blue and silver for colors rather than red. I discovered there weren't very many blue flowers! Especially in December! That makes the one we have all the more special.

That dip looks good. The teacups are so pretty, too. I can't make myself like hot tea (I've tried), but I think tea things are lovely.

Amen to the quote and Scripture!

  7. I am looking forward to seeing the purple hyacinths pop up to join the daffodils here. Our weather is still all over the place.
I love pottery-- bowls, mugs, plates.

    1. We have a couple of purple as well as yellow ones (so pretty) and light pink ones. I also enjoy pottery. Our everyday cereal bowls, mugs, and tumblers were all made by a potter friend of ours.

  10. Our pear trees for once bloomed after the snow - and it was gorgeous. I am looking forward to the lilacs and hyacinth. I read Morton's book a few years ago. I enjoyed it enough to read a few more of her books. What mysteries they are. BTW - your teacups are beautiful! Enjoy your Spring!

    1. I had a bit of a time getting into the book because of trying to keep track of the different characters, but it truly is an enjoyable read. Thanks so much for stopping by.

  11. I remember enjoying that Kate Morton book The Forgotten Garden.
I love the gorgeous teacups!! And I plan on making the Million Dollar dip very soon. Sine I'm not fond of crackers I'll just have it on my home made bread.
I hope your week is off to a great start.

    1. It took me a bit to get deep into it because of so many different characters and the fact that it's a time lapse book as well, but I'm thoroughly enjoying it now. :)
I thought of you when I posted the teacups picture. Wednesday's post will be about the Million Dollar Crack Dip. :) Have a wonderful week!
