As you may (or may not) have noticed, I've been changing some things around on the blog here at Joyful in His Presence. I want to make things as user friendly as I can for you, the readers. If you would be so kind as to answer the following questions for me, I would be greatly appreciative. You can just answer in the comments.
1. When you open to this blog, do you still see the apple blossom header with the name of the blog across the top? I know the header disappears when you click on the actual post for the day, but initially, are you still able to see the header?
2. When you open to this blog, do you see a side bar to the left automatically, or are there three little lines that you click on for the sidebar to appear?
3. With this new format that I am using, in order to change the font size on things like the name of the blog, the pages that run along the top under the header, etc., the only way I can change the font for those areas is to go in and edit the HTML in order to change the "skin" because I've chosen to go with the theme colors, etc. Are you finding the font for those areas too small? The actual posts themselves I can definitely control the type and size of font that is to be used...it's just the things that came as part of the format that I don't want to try and tamper with. 😀
4. I'm wondering if anyone is having trouble trying to leave a comment? I use comment moderation, so I am notified through email when someone has left a comment. I noticed this evening that I was not notified about one comment and noticed it only because I went into "comments" in design and found a comment that had been left this morning.
Thank you so much for your input. I want to make this blog as friendly user as possible, but if it is causing my readers any problems, I will change the format.
1. I can see the header when I open the blog, but yes, it disappears when I click on the post with just the text of the name of the blog on top.
ReplyDelete2. I see the three horizontal lines which I have to click on to see your left side bar.
3. I find some of the text very little such as "Read more" and the date. The font of the actual post is fine for me to read.
4. I had no problem leaving a comment. I've had the same trouble on occasion with not being notified of a comment left and I periodically check the comment section on the blogger dashboard.

I had to search to find the 3 little lines, but did find them. I wouldn't have thought to click them though.

1. Yes, I see the header picture if I open to the blog and not a particular blog post.

3. The font in the areas you mentioned are a little on the small side, but I have no trouble reading them.
4. I have not had trouble commenting so far.

ReplyDeleteI use feedly to let me know when someone has a new post up. When I click on your new post it brought me to a page with all your questions but now header or side bar. I clicked on an arrow to go back to your general blog not individual post and there I see your header and the three lines three little lines and when I click on them I see the sidebar. I hope that helps. The font on the posts and blog in general are nice and large. The font on the comments are smaller. I hope that helps.

I WILL CONTINUE TO USE THIS FORMAT THEN, AS IT SEEMS THAT THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THAT SOME ARE ABLE TO SEE THE ENTIRE LEFT SIDEBAR WHEN THE BLOG LOADS AND SOME DON'T SEE IT UNTIL THEY CLICK ON THE THREE LITTLE LINES. I'M THINKING THAT THE DIFFERENCE THERE IS THE SIZE OF ONE'S MONITOR. WHEN I VIEW THE BLOG ON A SMALLER MONITOR, I ALSO HAVE TO CLICK ON THE THREE LITTLE LINES.
ReplyDeleteLike everyone else I find no problem with accessing everything on your blog Recently I found how to check my Spam and I found one comment there that I had missed weeks ago. Now I check it regularly but so far no Spam or missed comment.
