Just a Note

Even though Thanksgiving Day is behind us, we can still make a conscious effort to be mindful of our blessings on a daily basis...especially with the celebration of the birth of our Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ coming up in just a few weeks!

I just wanted to say that I am thankful for EACH of You who read here.  I appreciate your faithfulness because I know that this is just a very wee space on the internet and you could certainly be reading a lot of other places.

Beginning on Friday, I will only be posting on Mondays and Fridays through the month of December.  Christmas is coming and there is much to do, but I don't want to do it in a rush, but rather I want to take my time and enjoy each aspect of it.  There's much more to celebrating Christmas than the presents and get togethers and all of the other trimmings.  For me, it's a time to reflect on and draw closer to the Lord through Advent devotions as well as just spending more time in prayer and Bible study.

See you on Friday!

    1. Hello Billie Jo! Thank you for your kindness. I've spent so many years just rushing through things and I want this year to be so different...peaceful and calm. xx

  2. I've made it a point to slow down this season just as you mentioned. I was in Walmart yesterday to return something I had bought, and the crowds and gift suggestions and all the chaos was really bothering me. I couldn't wait to get out of there. I look forward to reading your Monday and Friday posts.

    1. Thank you, Melanie. I totally understand how you felt with your time in Walmart yesterday. We went to town today and did shopping in several stores. I'm glad we are done with our shopping! :) See you Friday!

  3. That is a great plan, Dianna. We are driving over the mountains today and we will be in Canada on Friday for the Mennonite Girls Can Cook Christmas get together. I'll be scarce on the internet. Jesus is worthy of our attention and love and honor. God bless you.

    1. Thank you, Karen. I surely am going to try. All of the autumn decorations are coming down tomorrow as I do some cleaning and then Saturday I am looking forward to putting out the Christmas decor and putting up our little tree.

    1. Sounds lovely, Lauren. I'm sure the children enjoyed getting the tree up. Those were always such special times when our two were young,

  6. I just discovered your blog through Karen’s. I do not celebrate Christmas simply because of the commercialism, and must say seeing how you plan to celebrate is so refreshing. I look forward to seeing your posts.

  7. December requires a different kind of pacing for me too, Dianna. It's definitely not a season to be rushed, even though too often our culture can push us into it if we allow it to. I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving!

    1. We did have a nice Thanksgiving. Carroll hunted during the day, which gave me all day to prepare our Thanksgiving meal for dinner. I've really been enjoying this season so far. I finished the first decorating today and enjoyed it immensely.

  8. December does bring added activities and things that keep us busy. I can see why posting twice a week makes a lot of sense. Have a wonderful week ❤
