In pursuit of reminders regarding our One Word for 2025, Lisa encouraged us to find ways to put our One Word before our eyes on a regular basis.
As you know, if you have read here much this year my One Word is Resilience. There have been several hard challenges this month. Sometimes I sailed right through the challenge and other times I balked at what was before me.
This was such a good exercise for me, and I am thankful for the challenge that Lisa presented to us because the Lord brought to the forefront of my thoughts and meditations that while resilience is hard, in the end, it brings me to gratitude.
I'm understanding better and better what Jesus meant when He said, "Without Me you can do nothing".
Here are a few reminders of my One Word that I used as wallpaper on my phone as a reminder to keep pressing on.
It's why in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 He tells us to give thanks in all circumstances. Why am I to do this? Because it is God's will in Christ Jesus. It will draw me closer to the One Who is working out resilience in me.
It's why gratitude is a hard-fought, grace-infused Biblical lifestyle. It brings me through a difficult time more resilient as I have stayed the course through His strength.
I've also learned that the third picture is SO true. I've learned that if I never go through the hard times and persevere, I never realize the depth of resilience.
The quote by Nancy DeMoss just really spoke to my heart. Gratitude is one of the chief ways that God infuses Joy and Resilience into our daily life struggles.
The definition of resilience was one that I needed to read over and over..."the ability to recover" are such essential words in this definition! They must always be kept at the forefront of a struggle.
And, of course, I would need to include a picture of one lonely flower standing tall and blooming while others around have their heads drooping.
I've learned from this challenge that gratitude and resilience march through life hand in hand. To God be the glory for His wonderful working in our lives!
Such a great idea to put that very important word before our eyes on a regular basis. At my age, I need those gentle reminders. And yes, To God be the Glory for ALL that He does.
ReplyDeleteLisa, who is the moderator for the One Word challenges comes up with the best prompts for us. This month's was definitely one that I needed. Prayers continue for you and Sam.
DeleteI love how you incorporate your One Word into your life to see how it is growing you.
ReplyDeleteGod is SO good and the Holy Spirit teaches, guides ,convicts, and brings comfort. Lisa's prompts really are a challenge to find our word in a multitude of ways. I'm thankful to be a part of those who meet there. Maybe one day you can join us?
DeleteI love your word and I'd like to think I have resilience. I guess getting up every day and dealing with whatever the day brings is resilience (with grace of course). Love the bible verse and quotes :)
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, my dear friend you certainly are resilient. Anyone who deals with chronic illness as graciously as you do understands the meaning of resilience first hand.
Deletewhat a wonderful post! What a word you have chosen. I would say that resilience is something that I lack at. I don't bounce back very well. But I can see how it would bring about gratitude! Have a blessed day!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Monica. I think when it comes to resilience and bouncing back, it isn't necessarily how fast we bounce back, but whether we bounce back. I've watched you meet some very substantial challenges in the time I have known you. XX
DeleteThese are all so good. I love the way so many have the connection between gratitude and resilience.
ReplyDeleteI know, Mari. When I was searching for wallpapers for my phone I typed in resilience and I was amazed at how many things that came up also mentioned gratitude. It was definitely something that needed.
DeleteI love these saying and graphics. Such good reminders.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Friend. xx
DeleteEncouraging giffs and thoughts, Dianna. Sometimes looking back the gratitude can flow when you see the challenge from afar and know God brought you through. God bless you and keep you.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you, Ellen. xx
DeleteI always enjoy your posts and also the comments from other followers>💗
ReplyDeleteYou are so kind, my friend. I enjoy the interaction with those who comment. 💜💜
DeleteWonderful post Dianna.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Karen. God is good to be patient with us.
DeleteSuch a good post.
ReplyDeleteResilience and gratitude, two very good words.
All the best Jan
Thank you kindly, Jan.
DeleteThese are so good, Dianna! I love how you're finding Resilience in many other places and words, too. Our one word rarely stands alone. "The ability to recover" - that is definitely worth keeping at the forefront of any struggle. Thank you, friend!
ReplyDeleteThank YOU, my friend, for hosting this practice because the last two years that I have consciously participated in the exercise, I have been helped in my walk with the Lord so much. Your prompts are so valuable, Lisa. xx
DeleteI love how your word, resilience fits so snuggly with my word, flexible. I had never considered the similarities before.
