From My Journal

  TODAY IS March 16, 2026

AROUND ME we've been experiencing a good deal of wind...some high, some a gentle breeze.  We've also been enjoying varying temperatures.  Yesterday was in the low 70s, this evening we are forecast to get more snow.  So it goes with spring, yes?

I AM PONDERING the miracle of salvation.  The message we heard at church yesterday was about what makes a person a Believer...so many wonderful points were brought out.

AMONG MY FAVORITE THINGS

This sweet little heart shaped piece of porcelain is not only beautifully painted,
but it also contains a little bell inside of it, so it jingles when it is shaken.
I'm easily entertained, but it makes me smile every single time.

BOOKS I AM CURRENTLY READING Christ's Glorious Achievements by C.H. Spurgeon, Christmas in My Heart volume 7.  and I continue on with To Seek and to Save by Sinclair Ferguson to prepare my heart for Easter during the Lenten season.

I AM THANKFUL FOR being able to obtain an appointment after two weeks of trying.  God is good!

NEVER TOO OLD TO LEARN (OR BE REMINDEDOF) how the grace of God sustains us.

FROM THE KITCHEN

We don't eat a lot of pasta anymore,
but when I saw this recipe featured on MARI'S BLOG and I had all of the ingredients
on hand, I knew I needed to give it a try!
Oh. My. Goodness!
I used the Hot Italian Sausage that Strongheart made a while back
and it was definitely flavorful.

SOMETHING I REALLY ENJOY

I have a small teapot collection and when I recently saw this one featured on an Etsy seller's site whom I trust,
I ordered it.
It's gray and white transferware and it's very easy to pour from.

QUOTE FOR THE WEEK

"The value of consistent prayer is not that He will hear us,
but that we will hear Him.
Elisabeth Elliot

SCRIPTURE FOR THE WEEK

"But the Lord stood with me and gave me strength"
2 Timothy 4:17

TO DO LIST FOR TODAY  Laundry, tearing down a lot of cardboard boxes that I no longer need.

"So teach us to number our days,

so that we may present to You a heart of wisdom"

Psalm 90:12

  1. Hello Diana. It's good to be home and visiting your blog this morning. That little heart bell is sweet. Yours is the second pasta dish I'm seeing this morning. It looks very satisfying. We had a dusting of snow this morning so Winter is still doing it's thing. Glad you got that appointment. Have a beautiful day!

    1. It's good to have you back home. Hope the sea legs are gaining strength. The pasta dish is excellent. We had a couple of more inches of snow last night through today (Tuesday), but it's already melting at a good rate. xx

  3. We've had such a variety of weather, too--from the 30s to the 70s last week, storms last night, and snow predicted for this afternoon. I hope there won't be much snow, and it will go away soon. That rock is really cute--and it's fun that it jingles. The teapot is lovely. Love the 2 Timothy 4:17 verse.

    1. We had a couple of inches of snow, and the high was 27 today (Tuesday), but it's melting from underneath. The majority of it should be gone tomorrow afternoon. I love that the ceramic rock especially because it jingles. :) Yes, that verse gives me lots to think about.

    1. I'm curious as to how much snow you got overnight and through the day today (Tuesday). We only ended up with a couple of inches.
I love that little heart too.
Yes...I have a section in my recipe book for Mari's recipes...and I have some of YOURS in there too. :)
Have a wonderful week, my friend. xx

  6. It seems we're all having strange weather but I'm sure eventually Spring will be here and temperatures will be a bit more dependable.
That pasta looks tasty and I went over to see the recipe. I'll make it and just leave out the meat. DH usually does whatever meat he wants on the grill.

    1. Spring is definitely on its way, my friend. I had such a fun experience with a bird outside our bedroom window this afternoon late. He sounded as if it was saying "Tweet, Tweet", so I would say, "Tweet, Tweet" and it would reply. It was so fun...and I don't know if it ever heard me, but it was fun anyway. ;) I understand about the pasta recipe, but I will say, while I've not made it with burger yet, I did make it with some very good Hot Italian Sausage that my husband made, and it really did give the whole dish a wonderful flavor. I know you don't do meat, so you might want to add a bit more seasoning in it for more flavor.

The pasta dish does look tasty.

So pleased you were able to get that appointment.

Wishing you a good week ahead.

    1. Awww...thanks, Jan. That little heart just makes me so happy when I pick it up and it jingles. :) And we've been getting wonderful use out of the teapot. I love the ritual of making our morning tea in it.

The pasta dish was really good. I'll definitely make it again.

I was happy to get the appointment as well. It won't happen for another five weeks, but at least I have it and they did tell me that they put my name in the "call list" so if they happen to have a cancelation before then they will give me a call. I appreciated that.

I also wanted to be sure and tell you that I continue to use the shampoo that I made and I am so glad that I made that swap! My hair is looking so much healthier now. Thank you, Friend, for all of the helpful information that you put out for your readers!

That's good to know about the shampoo ...

    1. It's amazing to me how far out appointments have to be scheduled these days, but I am thankful that I am getting in as soon as I am. My NP is concerned.

    1. I've not received notification either by email or by the comment section here. At least I didn't accidentally delete it this time. We are really enjoying the new to us teapot. The stone that you referred to is actually a piece of porcelain that has been hand painted and it has the jingle inside. It makes me happy.
