I wanted to share some of the beauty of winter in West Virginia.
We went out yesterday morning and I took these pictures less than five miles from home.
The last two pictures were taken less than a mile from our home.
"That my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent.
O Yahweh my God, I will give thanks to you forever."
Psalm 30:12
Absolutely beautiful! You are so blessed to be living near such beauty.
ReplyDeleteThank you.... isn't God such a magnificent illustrator? I wish we would have thought to take you by this area when you were here. I realize it wasn't winter when you were here, but it's just as beautiful in the spring and summer when we are having plenty of rain and the water flows down over the rock ledges. xx
Deletethat is truly beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you, my friend. xx
DeleteStunning!! I love to see beautiful photos from nature...but isn't it exciting when you realize it that beauty is right in your backyard (more or less!) I love that!! Thanks for sharing. West Virginia is wild and wonderful, huh??:)
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my most favorite spots in our county. I love driving by this area. Yes, West Virginia is both wild and wonderful! :)
DeleteDianna - these are just gorgeous! You live in a beautiful area. I just love the frozen falls.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mari. You should see this same area when the Mountain Laurel is in bloom...that's what some of the greenery is that you see in the pictures where the streams are. And also, in the spring and summer when we are having regular rains, and the water comes flowing down over the ledges...just gorgeous. I will try and remember to take pictures them to post. xx
DeleteI would love to see it in person! :)
DeleteAnd I would love to see YOU in person. :)
DeleteYes, seeing you would be even better than the landscape! :)
DeleteThank you! :)
DeleteThat is quite beautiful. I think maybe we live in Heaven already.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sandi. You know what they say about West Virginia...Almost Heaven, West Virginia. It is indeed a beautiful area where I live, but I'm certain it's not as wonderful as heaven will be. ~wink~
DeleteWest Virginia is beautiful! Now I want to convince the Professor to take a drive around here.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Willow. Did you convince the Professor to take a drive today? I'm glad we went out when we did. We are forecast to get another 6-8 inches of snow tomorrow through Friday. :) If you ever plan to come to West Virginia, please let me know. If your destination is anywhere near here, I'd love to get together.
DeleteYou captured lots of beauty in your photos. Very nice to see and thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bill, for your kind words. I'm always happy to share the beauty of our state.
DeleteBeautiful!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Karen. xx
DeleteYou captured beautiful winter pictures. We are fortunate to love in such a beautiful state. Every season provides its own special beauty❤️. Brenda
ReplyDeleteThank you, Brenda, for your kind words. And, yes we do live in such a beautiful state. It's great knowing that you are a West Virginian too
DeleteWowzers! So so cool to see these frozen wonders and all the snow. We've been listening to John MacArthur's sermons in Genesis on our drives to Spokane and it gives more and more gratefulness to our God who created all things for us to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteIm using his Daily Bible for reading through the Bible this year and thoroughly enjoying it. I'm so thankful for where He has given me to live so that I can enjoy more fully the beautiful world He has created.
DeleteThose icy pictures are incredible. Winter has such beauty!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, my friend. It certainly does!
DeleteWow, it sure is beautiful! I hope you are staying warm, I heard America is having extreme cold.
ReplyDeleteI thought you would enjoy those pictures. We are staying warm. We heat primarily with a wood stove but when it gets super cold (like this morning when it was -6), my husband also turned up the thermostat on the furnace. Yes, we are having extremely cold weather right now...but just for a few more days and then we will be back up in the 30's and 40's F., which are much more seasonable temperatures for us.
