TODAY IS: 10 March 2025
AROUND ME: The temperatures this week sound amazing! That along with sunshine will make for some very cheerful days, weather wise.
I AM PONDERING: verse two of His Loving Kindness...the hymn we sang in church yesterday. I'll post the words below.
AMONG MY FAVORITE THINGS: Not that I would want to list these as my favorite things every week, but last week among my favorite things were OTC cold/allergy meds, antibiotics and cough medicine to take care of the bronchitis that I was diagnosed with last Monday morning. Also, among my favorite things were all of the yummy breakfasts that Strong Heart made us each morning during that same time period.💖
BOOKS I AM CURRENTLY ENJOYING: Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman and about to finish up The Kingdom, The Power, and The Glory by Tim Alberta.
I AM THANKFUL FOR: Strong Heart who took excellent care of me last week.
FROM THE KITCHEN:
SOMETHING I REALLY ENJOY: when our grandkids remember us and give us a call. It's always wonderful to connect with the younger generations.
QUOTE FOR THE WEEK: "A man who should live and die without trials would be like a setting sun without clouds: he would have scant opportunity for the display of those virtues with which the grace of God had endowed him." C.H. Spurgeon
SCRIPTURE FOR THE WEEK: "He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit." Titus 3:5
I'm so glad to hear you are feeling better and that Strongheart has been treating you so well. The kielbasa stew looks very good. I had a video chat with a couple of great-grands yesterday. That was a lot of fun. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteThank you, my friend. It's so wonderful to be able to breathe again! I thank the Lord daily for my recovery...His mercies are indeed new every morning! Thank you for your kind words regarding the kielbasa stew. It's Barbara's recipe and let me tell you, the broth is so good that one would be tempted to drink it from the bowl. :)
DeleteI'm so glad that you got to video chat with a couple of your great-grands yesterday! xx
I'm thankful you are feeling better and that you are blessed with a wonderful husband.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've heard that hymn but the words are wonderful!
Thank you, dear Mari. My husband has been so kind and gracious during this time of recuperation...even on the days that I was a bit "testy".
DeleteYesterday was the first time I'd heard that hymn too. Here's a link (if it goes through) so you can get a general idea of the tune...only we didn't sing it with quite as much pep. ;) https://www.bing.com/videos/riverview/relatedvideo?q=His+Lovingkindness+hymn&mid=89F77339ADF9B5D5D56589F77339ADF9B5D5D565&mcid=AD7187E8FB854BF58A1584526BAC8036&FORM=VIRE
Sorry to hear that you were sick! Glad you are feeling better! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Monica.
DeleteFirst of all.....I do hope you are feeling better. Bronchitis can really get you down and just make you feel miserable all over. REST is good and I'm glad that you were able to get some. Nothing like having a great husband to take care of us. I know you appreciate him and so do I for taking care of my dear friend. And then....Your header photo is so pretty...Makes me smile each time I open you blog. Beautiful quote and scripture...Thank you for posting them. Feel better, drink plenty of water and juice, and don't overdo. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteHello, my sweet friend. Thank you for your kindness in response to my being ill last week. I was especially touched that you said that you appreciate my husband for taking care of me. That was so sweet of you.
DeleteThank you for your kind words regarding the header photo. When my Lenten Rose blooms, I know spring is very very close! xx
Oh how great, indeed! I'm sorry to read that you were under the weather last week. How nice to have a caring husband around. :) That soup looks perfect for whatever ails you. We are enjoying sunshine today! Happy new week to you.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Ellen. His loving-kindness is indeed great! That soup really hit the spot when I was sick last week. It's so delicious!
DeleteI'm so glad you're feeling better and your husband took such good care of you. I know what you mean about not wanting to use medicines every week, but being glad for them and their help when needed. I'm so glad you enjoyed the stew!
ReplyDeleteI thought I recognized that hymn, but haven't heard it in a long time.
My son and d-i-l have given my grandson an old phone, I think mainly so he can be on family texts. He uses to just text emojis and such, but now he's sharing more. It's fun to get a text from him unexpectedly.
Thank you, Barbara, for your kind words. That stew was absolutely delicious, and it really hit the spot for me last week when I was ill.
DeleteYesterday was the first time I'd heard that hymn, but it is beautiful. The words alone are so edifying...even without the music.
How fun that your grandson texts you! That must make your day when you receive one, especially now that he's sharing more than just emojis.
Rest is very important when you're not feeling great. Glad you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bill. I told my husband that he's earned the Husband of the Year award for the way he took care of me. :)
DeleteSo sorry to hear you've been sick. I wonder how you were and say a prayer. What a blessing Carroll is!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Karen. Thank you especially for the prayer. Yes, I agree, Carroll is a blessing. :) Like I told Bill above, I told Carroll that he earned the Husband of the Year award for the way he took care of me. :)
DeleteI just came from visiting your blog and I forgot to mention to you that your supper tonight sounded wonderful! xx
"just how important rest is"
ReplyDelete💙
Hugs to you, Sandi.
DeleteI'm pleased to see you are recovering well, yes rest is essential once we get older as we don't seem to bounce back as we once did. Take care.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Diana.
DeleteI am ever so glad there is modern medicine to help us when we are ill.
ReplyDeleteMe, too, Friend. It's so wonderful to be able to breathe freely again.
